Are you feeling hopeless in your small business? There are so many demands that life calls our attention to in many directions. I will use myself as an example, I am a housewife, a new mom, and a solopreneur. I am navigating life’s hurdles in these different areas. As if I didn’t have enough on my plate to balance, I chose to dive into a small business by faith and trust in the Lord.
I looked back at many companies I have worked for and the challenges to get paid what I knew I was worth. My level of skills and expertise were going unappreciated. Now, only the Lord knows if these challenges I faced were because I am a double-minority. What is this exactly? Well, I’m a woman and I am African & Hispanic American. Now, we have seen many challenges of discrimination throughout history, however, I’ve also chosen to believe that everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. So I chose not to focus on discrimination and solely focus on what was inside me.
I knew I had an entrepreneurial spirit and it has been gnawing to break free! So, 2021 it gnawed its way out and blossomed into what seemed to fall into my lap as a Notary Public & Notary Signing Agent. In addition to this, I am embarking on a road of being a mentor to those in need. I am also a Mental Health Specialist for Small Business Owners. I have already faced challenges and some still fighting my way through to hope and a future!
Sometimes we find ourselves not giving enough credit to just how much we strive towards our aspirations and we get lost. We get lost into the whirlwind of other people’s strengths which create problems when ours don’t align with that of someone else’s. We put too much pressure on ourselves to be the most sought after, the most creative, the most successful, etc. This pressure builds into hopelessness because of a constant comparison from yourself to another.
Faith, Hope, and a Future
If you read my previous post, Mental Health for Small Business Owners, you would have created a list of things that you believe are reasons for your unhappiness for yourself and your business. Well, those very things and action plan each help you to better manage those feelings of hopelessness. If you have not read the post yet, go on over and read that! What I want to reassure you is Jeremiah 29:11. This scripture is scripture filled with hope, promise, and direction. These can be applied to all areas of your life when you feel questionable about the success of your business or your personal life.
Take assurance in the word of God and know that the only plans he has for you do not include anything that would harm you but to provide hope and a future. When you focus on the right thoughts the light begins to overtake the darkness. There is nothing worst than feelings of darkness. Work your way up to these thoughts of light. So whenever you are feeling hopeless remember even the smallest hint of light can outdo the darkness. Lastly, focus on the plans that the Lord has for you all according to the will of God. Rest knowing that you can always have a future filled with hope! All you need is Faith!
